Introduction to the STELA Project
Creating robots just by saying what you want them to do sounds like something out of a science fiction movie, but STELA is developing a project that uses Generative AI to create software automation.
Latin America’s Automation Innovation
Therefore, the company that developed Latin America’s first tool to automate test and business process using a no-code or codeless methodology, is presently undertaking an innovative artificial intelligence project supported by the Uruguayan government’s National Agency for Research and Innovation.
ANII is the driving force behind the promotion and support of innovative and potentially paradigm-shifting projects, the endorsement represents a significant milestone for STELA.
Challenges and opportunities in AI adoption
In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about artificial intelligence and automation.
But how to get Latin American companies to see the implementation of these technologies as tangible, simple and necessary projects for the business?
Vision of STELA’s CEO
This is the question posed by Guillermo Talento, CEO of STELA, who believes that technology should be available to everyone.
Global statistics and outlook
While it is expected that in the coming years more than 53% of companies worldwide will have to implement some kind of automated flow with next-generation technologies, it is noted that the statistic cited by Gartner mainly responds to the maturity level of companies in North America, Asia and Europe.
Project objectives in the Latin American context
Therefore, the objective of Guillermo Talento and his team with the development of new capabilities in STELA, framed in the project promoted by the Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay, is to make this indicator have a higher and more impactful component for the Latin American market.
“With this new project, we will provide Latin American companies with a tool for robotic automation of processes and tests, which will reduce the gap between technological development and productive capacity of any company in the fastest and easiest way imaginable”, explains Carina Cheres, Commercial Director of STELA.
STELA’s inspiration and goal
The need to facilitate technological development in the region was the inspiration for the creation of STELA.
The goal is to rethink the way we work and make the work of any individual more human when faced with repetitive tasks, such as those of a robot.
STELA allows anyone, even those who do not know how to program, to create a digital robot that interacts with applications and software systems as it does on a daily basis.
With the new version, developed with the support of ANII, it will be even more accessible.
This tool solves one of the major challenges in Latin America: the lack of technical personnel and the high cost of implementing manual tests and processes.
Description of the new project
The project, supported by ANII, is being developed by a team highly skilled in the implementation of artificial intelligence.
The goal is to enhance STELA’s ability to understand human language so that the tool will allow users to generate automations from instructions described in natural language (NLP: Natural Language Processing).
Thus, creating digital robots with STELA will be as simple as verbally specifying the series of steps and processes to be automated, or describing these actions in a document.
STELA, right out of the box
“Our goal is to increase the ease of use of STELA and broaden the base of people who can use the technology to create robots in an agile way. We want to further democratize the benefits and access to this highly effective technology for medium and small companies in any industry,” says Guillermo Talento.
With this development, we want to be one of the first to use natural language processing in Spanish in automation tools.
Thanks to the new project and the features that STELA already includes, the tool is positioned as the easiest to use solution.
It is within the reach of local industrial budgets, and capable of multiplying the profitability of companies, facilitating the work of teams, as well as the quality of software development and business processes.
